Orthopaedic CME Online FAQ


Q: How do I register for a course?
A: To register for a course, click the "Register" menu, fill out the registration form, select the appropriate fee, pay by credit card. You will gain immediate access to the course unless there seems to be an issue with your credit card payment or your credit card payment is declined.

Q: How much does each course cost?
A: All the CME Online courses are available to you once you’ve paid for a one year subscription.

Q: I am not an M.D. Can I take your courses?
A: Yes, anyone can take our courses. However, please note that our courses are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). All participants receive a certificate, but not all users are eligible for AMA PRA Category 1 credit™. (For example, non-physicians are not eligible for AMA PRA Category 1 credit™, but they do receive a certificate of completion).

Q: How long do I have to complete a course?
A: You have as much time as you need. Generally, the number of credits indicates about how long a course will take (a 2-credit course will take about 2 hours). However, once you register for a course, you can access it any time for as much time as you need.

Technical Support

Q: What kind of computer do I need to access CME online?
A: Any computer that can access the Internet is supported. You can use a PC, a Macintosh or a Unix machine as long as you have QuickTime installed.

Q: What kind of internet connection and browser do I need to use CME online?
A: Internet Connection: Your computer should be configured to access the Internet. A high speed internet connection may be required to view some of the large multimedia files.  Browsers: Internet Explorer 8 or higher is recommended. However, Internet Explorer 7, Firefox, Chrome will also work.

Q: Do I need to install any plugins to use CME online?
A: Some of the CME courses may contain videos. To access this material, you will need Apple Quicktime, download Apple Quicktime. Some course material might contain data in PDF format. To view PDF files, you need to download the PDF Acrobat Reader. No plugins, however, are required for general use of the CME website.

Q: Who accredits OCO Online?

Q: How do I earn credit from OCO CME Online?
A: Credit from OCO CME is granted to physicians on a per-course basis. Upon successful completion of a course, physicians receive a certificate instantly for AMA PRA Category 1 credit™. In order to receive your certificate, you must complete all sections of the course.

Q: What will I receive to document the credit I have earned?
A: A certificate will be available for printing, downloading, or emailing the moment you have completed a course:

Q: I lost / can’t find my certificate. What should I do?
A: Certificates can be re-printed from the “My CME” section once you’ve logged back into the site at any time.

Q: How can I find my state’s CME requirements?
A: An updated table of state-by-state CME requirements is maintained by the AMA.

A: Login, then click on "Member Profile”.
